I just put a new battery in my car after the other was drained from sitting for a week witht the key in the ignition. I changed the battery and the car started right up, but now it says "PSM Failure" and "PASM Failure". The "Sport" button doesnt work either. What does this mean?

バッテリーを切り離すと色々と問題が起きるので電圧をカットしないようにバッテリー交換はすべきなのですが、現実にはなかなかそういきません。バッテリー交換後、「PSM Failure」「PASM Failure」が表示され、PASMボタンが反応しない時の対処方法です。

TerpsRED：My recollection is that this error will clear after some regular driving. About 20 miles or so. There are a few threads on some errors that get thrown when changing out a battery. Most folks say they clear themselves out.

まずは何もしない、とりあえずほっておいて20マイル（約32km）ほど走れば自然と消えるという派。

Mile in CA：It will clear in much less than 20 miles. Start the engine, perform a few steering motions to the left and right with the vehicle stationary, then drive in a straight line for a short distance until the warning lights go out. It should clear in a few hundred feet. Same thing happened to me after disconnecting the battery while hardwiring my V1.

左右にステアリングを切って、その後直線を走ると20マイルも走らずに消える派。

上記に該当するのでしょうか、セルモーター（スターター）交換メンテナンス時に安全のためバッテリーを切り離してエラー表示があったものの、次走らせたときには消えていました。

いずれにしてもバッテリー交換時はバッテリーバックアップをして行う方がよいと思われます。
